21 Weeks Pregnant

Got any bananas in your kitchen? Grab the biggest one and take a close look at it. That’s how long Baby Natural is from crown to feet this week. (Yes, starting now, baby is measured from head to toe instead of crown to rump!)
All of baby’s major organs and systems have formed now, though they will of course continue to grow and mature. His bone marrow has begun producing blood cells (taking over that job from the liver and spleen).
But, baby's big job going forward is to acquire that adorable baby fat. He'll need it to fuel his body's massive growth during his first year of life.
On average, babies triple their birth weight during their first year of life, and they grow nearly a foot in length! The layer of fat insulates baby's organs, provides a "reserve" in case of weight loss during an illness, and of course provides an energy source too.
Remember, as baby grows, you'll grow. Don't be surprised if your appetite increases a bit over the next few months.
