What 3 Kids Growing in One Belly Does to Your Body

The chances of getting pregnant with triplets are tiny. In the UK, for example, they’re about 1 in 4,400. So, I guess you could call Maria, 36, of Copenhagen, Denmark, lucky. She and her husband, Anders, already have a boy, but they are set to welcome two daughters and another son later this month. Documenting her pregnancy, Maria has been taking pictures of her body changes and has amassed over 62,000 followers along the way.

“What a journey this has been!” Maria wrote. “From the huge shock of learning there were three, to people’s reactions, the numerous scannings and checks, and all the preparations and planning for this life-changing event. Nothing like the ordinary.”

She calls her most recent days “the waiting game.” Most of what she does now consists of binging TV series and podcasts, sleeping and browsing on her phone. Couple that with the kicking of the babies, heart burn and quite a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions, and you get quite the picture of what’s happening moments before your due day. For Maria, it’s tomorrow!
