Natural Morning Sickness Remedy

Morning sickness, also known as nausea gravidarum (mostly to doctors, let’s be honest) is a condition that affects over 50% of pregnant women. In spite of its name, morning sickness may last all day and disrupt a woman's normal routine.

For some, morning sickness may cause a secret pregnancy to be known before the mother is ready, because for those who work or go to school, leaving the area to find a bathroom becomes a necessity.

At its worse, morning sickness may cause malnutrition in the mother and baby, and therefore it must be controlled in order to foster the health of mother and child.

Here’s how to make a natural morning sickness remedy smoothie:
• 3/4 c. coconut water (I like this brand)
• 1/2 c. cooked oatmeal (preferably cooled)
• 1 frozen banana
• 1-2 TB almond butter
• 1 TB honey (here’s a crazy potent one)
• 1 inch peeled ginger root or 1/2 tsp. ginger powder
• Dash of sea salt (like this one)

Optional, extra-credit ingredients:
• 1 TB water-soluble gelatin (like this one)
• 1 tsp bifidus powder (like this one)

Morning Sickness Remedy Directions:
• Chop your frozen banana into small pieces
• Put into blender and add all remaining ingredients
• Blend until smooth
• Pour into glass and drink slowly
