It’s normal for the women in a family to look sɪᴍɪʟᴀʀ ᴛʜʀᴏᴜɢʜ sᴇᴠᴇʀᴀʟ ɢᴇɴᴇʀᴀᴛɪᴏɴs, but 18-month-old MilliAnna of Ridgeland, has ɪɴʜᴇʀɪᴛᴇᴅ ᴀ ᴛʀᴀᴅᴇᴍᴀʀᴋ ᴘᴀᴛᴄʜ ᴏꜰ ᴡʜɪᴛᴇ ʜᴀɪʀ that’s been passed from her great-grandmother, to her grandmother, to her mother, down to her.

Worthy said :”We are unsure how far back the ʙɪʀᴛʜᴍᴀʀᴋ goes as my grandmother was adopted as a child and hasn’t met her biological family. I was hoping she did have it. My younger sister that my mother had a few years after me didn’t get it, so I didn’t know if Anna was going to, but once I had her and they laid her on my chest and I saw she had it and I was so happy.”
She also said that people frequently stop her on the street to remark on their adorable mutual patch of hair, and that while it can be ᴏᴠᴇʀᴡʜᴇʟᴍɪɴɢ, most of the comments are positive. Things might be a bit different, however, when Anna starts school. Baby Anna is the Fᴏᴜʀᴛʜ ɢᴇɴᴇʀᴀᴛɪᴏɴ to have the white locks, which is also visible on her grandmother, Jennifer, 41, and her great-grandmother, Jaonne, 59. She said :”I had several names such as sᴋᴜɴᴋ that kids would try to ɪɴsᴜʟᴛ me with as a child. Sometimes it would ʙᴏᴛʜᴇʀ me when I was younger, but I grew to end up really loving it in my hair and was confident that it was my own unique signature look. I plan to raise my daughter knowing she is beautiful and special and to not listen to people ᴍᴇᴀɴ ᴄᴏᴍᴍᴇɴᴛs at times.”
Brianna said when she was growing up the ᴡʜɪᴛᴇ ʜᴀɪʀ would ʙᴏᴛʜᴇʀ her sometimes, especially when kids called her ᴀ sᴋᴜɴᴋ ᴏʀ ᴏᴛʜᴇʀ ɴᴀᴍᴇs . She began to love it as she grew up because it became her signature look. The women with the ᴡʜɪᴛᴇ sᴛʀᴇᴀᴋ think of it as a ɢʀᴇᴀᴛ ᴛʀᴀᴅᴇᴍᴀʀᴋ for their family. She is going to explain to her baby when she is older why she has the patch of ᴡʜɪᴛᴇ ʜᴀɪʀ . The trait was ᴘᴀssᴇᴅ down from Anna’s great-grandmother Jaonne, 59, to her grandmother Jennifer, 41, to her mother Brianna, 23.
She added : “Wᴇ ᴀʀᴇ ᴜɴsᴜʀᴇ ʜᴏᴡ Fᴀʀ ʙᴀᴄᴋ ᴛʜᴇ ʙɪʀᴛʜᴍᴀʀᴋ ɢᴏᴇs ᴀs ᴍʏ ɢʀᴀɴᴅᴍᴏᴛʜᴇʀ ᴡᴀs ᴀᴅᴏᴘᴛᴇᴅ as a ᴄʜɪʟᴅ and hasn’t ᴍᴇᴛ ʜᴇʀ ʙɪᴏʟᴏɢɪᴄᴀʟ family.”
