Labour Birth Room or OB Recovery Room

Think of your hospital stay as the beginning of your recovery and a time to learn about your baby and being a parent. You'll get a chance to rest and have nutritious food.

You'll be spending the first hours or days with your baby supported by professionals who can answer your questions. Ask for what you need.

Based on your situation, you and your health care provider will decide the length of your stay. It may be as brief as 24 hours or as long as a few days.

In some hospitals you may be in the same room for all of your hospital stay. In others, you may be moved to a different room after your baby's birth. Then, you will be in that room for the rest of your hospital stay. Either way, you can keep your baby with you in your room as long as there are no health problems.
