I Gave Birth To Triplets And Just 11 Months Later Had a Fourth Baby

A TRAINEE teacher who had triplets gave birth to her fourth baby just 11 months later. Bethany Kaur, 29, found out she was pregnant with her little boy Karan while her first son Arjan and daughters Kiren and Kirit were still only a few months old.

She and her husband Kay Singh, 35, said they were speechless when they discovered they were going to have another baby so soon. She told The Sun: “It was a really scary experience. It was like something out of the movies. “It’s been a really tough time, but we are embracing it now. “Luckily we have had amazing support from our families and when we had Karan, we felt more ready.” The triplets were born at just 31 weeks on April 4, 2020, by emergency C-section. They all had to be put on ventilators before they could breathe on their own. Kiren weighed 3lb 4oz, Arjan 3lb 5oz and Kirit 3lb 9oz. Bethany and Kay were separated from their three babies at birth, and were not able to see them until days later because of the Covid risk. Then the couple had to take it in turns to visit their new additions at Royal Derby Hospital. They could not kiss them and had to be kitted out in full PPE. But when the triplets were only six months old, Bethany found out she was pregnant again. The new parents knew they wanted another baby — but had not expected Bethany to get pregnant so soon. By chance, Karan’s due date was June 1, 2021 — exactly a year after the triplets’ due date. And on March 13, 2021, just 11 months after their first babies had been born, they had their son, Karan, during the third Covid lockdown. He weighed 3lb and was also born prematurely by emergency C-section. Little Karan spent 12 weeks in hospital before he could go home to meet his three older siblings. 'THEY'VE ALL REALLY BONDED' Now 11 months old, he is keeping his parents’ hands full in Burton-on-Trent, Staffs, with Kiren, Arjan, and Kirit, who are now 22 months old. Bethany said: “Karan has been a really easy baby, much easier than the other three, and they’ve all really bonded.” In 2021, teacher Jessica Pritchard, 31, also had four babies in less than a year. She gave birth to daughter Mia in May 2020, then had triplets 11 months later. Ella, George and Olivia were born weighing 2lb 9oz, 3lb 11oz and 3lb 13oz. Jessica, from Sheffield, also had an eight-year-old daughter, Molly. She said she and partner Harry Williams, 34, felt “so lucky and blessed” — even with five children aged eight and under.
